A NOTE ABOUT SIZES, STYLES & DESIGNS
SIZES: For all T-shirts,
sizes run a little small as they get larger.
Consider ordering one size larger than you would normally
wear. For example, order an Extra Large if you normally
wear a Large.
DESIGNS: The designs are printed 10" x 10" (ten
inches by ten inches square) in full color on high-quality
shirts. The design area of the T-shirt may seem a little
stiff when you receive it, but it will soften up after the
first washing. For all other items, the designs are
printed in relation to the item's size.
GET A BETTER VIEW: For faster
loading, the images
shown below are low resolution and contain less detail
than the actual item. To see a big, detailed images just CLICK
ON THE MAGNIFYING GLASS next to each design name!
BONNIE RECOMMENDS: "I
especially like the tote bags. They're sturdy
canvas, wide and deep, big enough to hold notebooks, gym
clothes and all the other stuff I'm always carting
around."

ANNE
FRANK QUOTES(FRONT)
One of the
world's greatest books, The Diary of Anne Frank, was
produced by a little girl who wondered if she really had
any talent. Wear this image to remind yourself that
every writer has their dreams...and their doubts.
The
quote from The Diary Of Anne Frank reads "I know
that I can write. a couple of my stories are good. My
descriptions of the "Secret Annex" are humorous. There's a
lot in my diary that speaks, but--whether I have real
talent remains to be seen."
ANNE FRANK QUOTES (BACK)
On the back, a colorized photo of
Anne Frank with this stirring quote from her diary:
"Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good
news is that you don't know how great you can be! How much
you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your
potential is!"

WET YOUR PANTS (FRONT): Our
demurely-dressed writer stands before her writing table,

written on blue-lined notebook paper: "Writing well is like wetting
your pants in a black dress. It gives you a warm feeling
but nobody notices."
WET YOUR PANTS (BACK): On
the back side, she asks, coyly "Guess what I just did?"
We're guessing she just wrote something. Your guess is up

Our faux 30's era action
comic is "Ted Turrific-- Turrific Tales of a Freelance
Writer." In this issue, Ted Turrific groans "Writers don't
get no respect!" as he's booted from the offices of
Publisher's Clearinghouse. An impatient manager yells
"For the last time, we're not publishers. We're Publisher's Clearinghouse,
you IDIOT!"
The back design shows the
full cover, front and back, of Turrific Tales, although
now it's been marked up with doodles, phone numbers and
dates. Seems freelance writer's comics don't get no
respect either!

TRIBUTE
TO HUNTER:
The great Gonzo Journalist may be gone, but he'll never be
forgotten. His spirit lives on in his works and in this
tribute T-shirt.
On the front, a messy black
frame and blood spatters surround this phrase: In the
words of the great Gonzo Journalist, "I have no taste for
either poverty or honest labor so writing is the only
recourse left for me."
On the back, a small
stenciled "writer" label is crossed out, and "gonzo"
messily scribbled in.

THE DESIGN
REJECTION SLIP
(FRONT) It was never actually a 50's era horror
flick, but it SHOULD have been! Writers freeze in fear of
the dreaded REJECTION SLIP! (cue spooky organ music.)
Bottom movie credits read "Talentless writers tortured by
a postman playing on their darkest fears. " The faux movie
stars Ima Hack, Noah Riginality, Penny Aword and
introducing Torn
Envelope as "The Mailman."
REJECTION SLIP (BACK)
A newspaper ad for the Mid-American Theatre claims
"It came in a plain white envelope...It left them in stark
white terror!" and "WARNING: Due to the
graphic nature of this film, no writers will be admitting
during the SHOCKING last 30 minutes" We've included two
tickets good for balcony seating. Sorry, you have to
supply your own popcorn. ( Spaghetti strap or Value T have
front image only.)

We cannot
indisputably attribute this quote to any one author, but
it seems likely to have come from composer, lyricist
and accomplished pianist Walter Smith who was born in 1885
and died in 1968. He wrote and copyrighted well over 200
songs. His career was at its peak in the late 1910's and
1920's but when the depression hit, the good times were
over. Smith remained prolific writer, and though never impoverished, struggled
financially for the rest of his life.
OPEN A VEIN (FRONT) Writing can be so bloody
painful! As Walter Smith put it, "There's nothing to
writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open
up a vein." His letter, complete with bloody thumbprint,
sits above a magnificent antique typewriter dripping
blood.

WRESTLING ALLIGATORS (FRONT) Bonnie Boots says "This
design is my personal favorite. The picture comes
from my collection of old Florida postcards--an actual
photo from the 1940's or 50's of a pretty gal confidently
riding a big ol' gator! Here in Florida, where I
live, gator wrestling is not only a tourist attraction,
it's also a kayaking hazard! "

bites a pencil in half!

The quote used here, "Writing is the hardest way of
earning a living, with the possible exception of wrestling
alligators. " is attributed to Olin Miller. Despite
his being one of the most-quoted
writers on the internet, I have found no information about Olin Miller other than the
possible life dates of 1918-2002.

PAID PERHAPS: (FRONT) Beloved American humorist Robert Benchley was born in 1889 and died in 1945. His thoughtful
and sophisticated humor made him one of the most popular
writers and entertainers of his time, yet his observation
shows us that even he struggled with the financial downside of
freelancing.

WRITE MIND WOMAN (FRONT): If you're the type of

in her head, then this is the T-shirt for you. A real

Victorian lass showing off her oh-so-modern typewriter under
the message "No woman
in her Write Mind needs a man." An antique post card shows a woman remembering an old beau, with
the message "In memory, dear" as bees and butterflies
buzz around.
WRITE MIND WOMAN (BACK)
On the back side of this double-sided design, bees buzz
around a note card reading "I'll call you when I change my
mind!" NOTE: Some garment styles, like the Value T and the
spaghetti strap T, do not allow for a backside design.

THE ITCH OF LITERATURE: Samuel Lover(1797-1868),
Irish novelist, artist, songwriter and musician, was born
in Dublin. Lover began life as an artist
and his work was exhibited at the Royal Academy. He attracted
attention as an author with the publication of his work, Legends and Stories of
Ireland. Thereafter, he continued to write about the life,
lore and legends of Ireland. His full quote, shortened on
our design, is "When once the itch of literature comes
over a man, nothing can cure it but the scratching of a
pen. But if you have not a pen, I suppose you must scratch
any way you can."
THE ITCH OF LITERATURE is plain on the back.

TO BE A WRITER
is attributed to John Hersey, 1914-1993, one of
America's most respected modern writers. He authored 25
books, including A Bell for Adano, Hiroshima, and The
Wall, and was frequently published in the New Yorker and
other magazines. Hersey was a winner of the Pulitzer Prize
and set the standard for voicing moral concern in modern
American literature. His quote speaks to the reality of
what it takes to produce fine writing.
